I’m a Human Library Book for the PuSH Festival at VPL downtown Jan 21, Jan 28 and Feb 4, 12-4 pm. I’ll be speaking on the acquisition of queer rights in Canada.
David Eso and Jeanette Lynes collected letters and epistolary poems from more than 120 Canadian poets and published them in the anthology Where the Nights Are Twice as Long. To celebrate the longest night of the year, we gather poets Daphne Marlatt, George Bowering, Ivan Coyote, RC Weslowski, Jane Eaton Hamilton, Heather Haley and Renee Saklikar to read excerpts of their letters. With Historic Joy Kogawa House writer in residence Christine Lowther.

Please join our writers-in-residence over dinner and an evening of impromptu readings at Historic Joy Kogawa House next week. Tom Cho and Jackie Wykes will be back in town after their residency in Blairmore, AB. Jane Eaton Hamilton will be home from touring the new novel Weekend. Shaughnessy Bishop-Stall will be freshly arrived from Toronto to begin a three-month residency at the house.
Alexandra Bischoff and Meghan Matos will also read.
